NeurIPS 2026
NeurIPS 2026 is the 40th Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems, the largest and most influential academic conference in machine learning. For its 40th edition it is running a tri-site format for the first time. Sydney hosts the main event from December 6 to 12 at the ICC, with satellite hubs in Atlanta and Paris running December 9 to 13.
The program centers on peer-reviewed research across machine learning, with tracks for papers, datasets and benchmarks, position papers, tutorials, competitions, workshops, and a Creative AI stream. Around the research sits a large industry presence, with AI labs recruiting, startups demoing, and a professional exposition on machine learning in practice. Papers presented at NeurIPS routinely shape products a year or two later, which is why it remains the best window into where AI is heading rather than where it is.
The general chairs for 2026 are Hsuan-Tien Lin and Razvan Pascanu. Author notifications went out in late September and paper locations have been assigned, with authors now able to register. Early registration closed on October 30, and the organizers advise attendees to use only the official NeurIPS website for registration and housing.
