OpenAI, the popular AI startup has made an exciting announcement – the new ChatGPT voice feature is now accessible to all users. Initially launched exclusively for paid users in September, OpenAI has now rolled out the voice feature to free users as well.
In a post on X, OpenAI stated, “ChatGPT with voice is now available to all free users. Download the app on your phone and tap the headphones icon to start a conversation.”

Former OpenAI President Greg Brockman also weighed in on the latest ChatGPT update, expressing his enthusiasm for the new feature. He noted that it “totally changes the ChatGPT experience.” In response to OpenAI’s announcement on X, Brockman wrote, “ChatGPT Voice has been rolled out for all free users. Give it a try – it completely transforms the ChatGPT experience.”
Brockman’s comments come in the wake of his resignation from OpenAI, following his removal as chairman and the termination of CEO Sam Altman.
However, the decision to reverse these changes has been met with mounting pressure, first from investors and now from OpenAI employees. A majority of the employees have threatened to quit unless Altman is reinstated and the board resigns.
