Google has upgraded its Bard AI chatbot to now answer questions about YouTube videos, offering more interactive and informative experiences. This new feature expands Bard’s capabilities beyond merely finding videos to providing specific answers about video content.
Previously, Bard’s YouTube Extension allowed users to discover videos based on general queries, like finding videos to ‘learn how to bake a cake’. However, this enhancement enables users to ask the chatbot direct questions about what’s happening in the videos themselves.
The chatbot’s responses rely on robust language models that gather information from YouTube and the wider web. This means users can inquire about the video they’re currently watching and engage in a conversation with the AI while the video plays.
Our team at The AI Landscape tested this feature out and below is an example for the same. At first, we asked Bard ‘Find videos of how to quickly get grape juice out of a wool rug’. In the reply, Bard shared the following video links:
We then asked Bard ‘Which chemical is used in the first video?’. In the reply, Google Bard answered our query related to the video as shared below:
Google’s update aims to make the YouTube-watching experience more engaging and educational. By integrating Bard’s capabilities directly into the video-watching process, users can now delve deeper into video content without having to leave the platform.
