Elon Musk’s parody account, in response to OpenAI’s announcement of Sam Altman’s reinstatement as CEO, criticized the move as a “marketing stunt.”

Nice marketing stunt

OpenAI shared their agreement in principle for Altman’s return with a new board lineup, prompting Musk to voice skepticism over the entire episode.
OpenAI’s tweet revealed the impending return of Altman alongside the appointment of Bret Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo to the board, seeking collaboration to finalize the details.
We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam Altman to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D’Angelo.
We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this.

The parody account, however, dismissed these efforts, stating, “You guys literally did all this for nothing. Nice marketing stunt.”
Other Twitter users echoed Musk’s sentiments, questioning the board’s initial decision to dismiss Altman without providing a clear rationale. One user expressed confusion, stating,
“None of this makes any sense. Why fire him in the first place? You never explained it. Now rehired. The whole board is like a bunch of kids.”
Conversely, amidst the skepticism, some users congratulated Altman on his return to OpenAI stating
Congratulations Sam Altman
