Our Research Methodology For AI Startup Directory

At The AI Landscape, our goal is to build one of the most accurate and reliable AI startup directories available. Every company profile is researched, reviewed, and published by our editorial team rather than being automatically generated.

Our research team consists of three members with backgrounds in AI, startups, technology, and digital research, working together to verify information before it appears in our directory.

This page explains exactly how we research, verify, and maintain each startup profile. While we use modern research tools to improve efficiency, every listing goes through human review before publication.

1. Tracking New AI Startups and Funding Announcements

Our research begins long before a company appears in our directory.

We continuously monitor the AI ecosystem by following funding announcements, product launches, acquisitions, and major company updates across multiple channels.

This includes platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Google Alerts, official company blogs, startup newsletters, and trusted technology publications. We also receive announcements through our network of PR agencies and media partners, allowing us to identify newly funded startups and emerging AI companies as early as possible.

This continuous monitoring helps us keep our directory updated with the latest developments across the AI industry.

2. Cross-Checking Information Across Multiple Sources

Finding information is only the first step. Before adding or updating any company profile, our editorial team reviews information from multiple independent sources.

Whenever possible, we compare details from at least five reputable sources, including official company announcements, press releases, investor updates, interviews, recognised media publications, and startup databases. We also compare external reporting with information published on the company’s official website to identify any inconsistencies.

If important information appears to be missing or unclear, our team may contact the startup directly to confirm specific details before publication.

3. Preparing the Startup Profile

Once our research is complete, we prepare the company profile using all verified information collected during the research process.

This includes company background, funding history, investors, headquarters, founding year, founders, products, industries served, pricing information where available, integrations, AI models, and other relevant business details.

For many startups, this information is publicly available and straightforward to verify. However, some early-stage or niche AI companies have limited public information. In these cases, our editorial team reaches out to the company whenever possible to request clarification or additional details before publishing the profile.

4. Our Verification Standards

As a general editorial guideline, we do not publish important factual information unless it has been confirmed by multiple reliable sources. In most cases, we look for at least five independent references supporting the same information before including it in a company profile.

Not all sources are treated equally. Our editorial team evaluates every source based on its credibility, reputation, and reliability. Well-established databases, official company announcements, recognised technology publications, regulatory filings, and trusted industry sources are given significantly greater weight than unknown websites or low-quality blogs.

Sources that appear misleading, spammy, outdated, or lacking editorial standards are excluded from our research process.

5. Company Review and Corrections

After a profile is published, we often share it with the startup’s official team and invite them to review the information for accuracy.

Many companies respond with confirmations, updates, or additional information that helps us improve the profile further. If we receive verified corrections or updated company information, our editorial team reviews the changes and updates the page as quickly as possible.

Our directory is intended to remain a living resource that evolves as companies grow and new information becomes available.

6. Human Research Supported by AI

Our research process is human-led.

Our editorial team performs the research, evaluates sources, verifies claims, and makes all final publishing decisions. We also use modern AI research tools, including platforms such as Claude, to help organise information, summarise lengthy documents, and speed up parts of the research workflow.

These tools assist our researchers but do not replace editorial judgement. Every published profile is reviewed by a human editor before it becomes part of our directory.

A Note to Our Readers

While we make every reasonable effort to ensure the information in our AI Startup Directory is accurate, complete, and up to date, no directory can guarantee absolute accuracy at all times. Startup information can change quickly through new funding rounds, acquisitions, product launches, leadership changes, or business pivots.

We encourage readers to use our directory as a trusted starting point for research while also conducting their own independent due diligence before making investment, partnership, hiring, or purchasing decisions.

Our commitment is to maintain a practical, transparent, and continuously improving research methodology backed by real human editors, trusted sources, and responsible use of AI-assisted research tools.
