Ravical has raised $17 million in seed funding to help accounting and tax firms grow without adding headcount. MMC Ventures led the round, with existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive taking part alongside new investor Shapers. The round takes the Ghent startup’s total funding to $25 million.
Ravical builds an AI platform for accounting and tax firms. It turns the knowledge and working methods of experienced staff into shared processes that a firm can apply across its whole client base.
The hiring problem behind the round
Ravical says demand for accounting and advisory work is rising while firms struggle to recruit and keep skilled staff. Growth still depends on adding people, which leaves firms exposed when hiring slows or experienced staff leave.
Clients are also changing how they seek advice. Ravical’s own research found that 70 per cent of UK small and medium sized businesses act on AI generated advice without consulting their accountants first. That shift puts pressure on firms to prove the value of their expertise.
One shared way of working
The platform is designed to stop AI use from fragmenting inside a firm. Instead of each employee running a separate assistant, Ravical gives the firm one shared way of working that carries its best methods across every client.
More than 100 accounting firms across Europe already use the platform. Ravical says the shared approach supports steadier workflows, better client service and new business from existing clients.
“When every employee uses their own assistant in their own way, the individual gets better, but the firm doesn’t. We turn how a firm’s best people work into a shared way of working that AI carries out across every client,” said Joris Van Der Gucht, co-founder and chief executive of Ravical.
Where the money goes
Ravical will use the funding for product development and team growth. It also plans to strengthen its position in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, then expand into other European markets and the United States.
The company was founded in 2025 by Van Der Gucht, chief technology officer Ken Bastiaensen and chief product officer Benjamin Vandermarliere. It previously raised a 7.3 million euro pre-seed round led by Lakestar in May 2025.
Van Der Gucht previously co-founded Silverfin, an accounting automation firm acquired for 320 million euros in 2023.
