Devplan Raises $2.5M Seed Funding

Devplan Raises $2.5M Seed To Cut AI Coordination Costs For Engineering Teams

Seattle-based AI startup Devplan has raised $2.5 million in Seed funding as it emerges from stealth in June 2026. The funding round was led by AI2 Incubator, with participation from Acequia Capital, Mighty Capital, Grand Ventures, and eLab Ventures. The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its platform and accelerate growth.

Founded in 2025, Devplan is building AI-powered software designed to help product and engineering teams streamline coordination and project management. While the company has disclosed the funding amount, its valuation has not been publicly revealed.

What Is Devplan?

Founded in 2025, Devplan is a Seattle-based AI startup building software that helps product and engineering teams manage project coordination more efficiently. The company’s platform connects information from tools such as Jira, Slack, GitHub, meeting notes, and internal documentation, giving teams a centralized view of project progress, ownership, risks, and updates.

While AI coding tools have significantly accelerated software development, much of the coordination work around software projects remains manual.

Product managers, engineering leaders, and developers still spend hours in meetings, writing status reports, tracking project updates, and searching across multiple tools for information. Devplan was created to solve this “work about work” problem by automating project coordination and making information accessible in real time.

As software teams adopt AI-assisted development, Devplan represents a new generation of AI startups focused on workflow coordination rather than code generation. By reducing information silos and bringing fragmented project data into a single system, the company aims to help teams spend less time managing work and more time building products.

Meet The Founders Behind Devplan

Devplan was founded in 2025 by Chris Bee and Anton Safonov, two technology leaders who spent years building and scaling products at some of the world’s largest technology companies.

The idea for the company reportedly began through youth soccer coaching, where the two founders connected and discovered a shared frustration with the amount of time engineering teams spend on coordination, status updates, and project management rather than actual product development.

Before launching Devplan, Chris Bee served as CTO of Lessen, where he helped scale the property services company from a startup generating around $20 million in revenue to a business that reached a $2 billion valuation.

Earlier in his career, he held product and engineering leadership roles at Zillow, Uber, and Amazon. His co-founder, Anton Safonov, spent seven years at Snap as a Principal Software Engineer, leading infrastructure initiatives and large-scale engineering systems. Prior to Snap, he worked on real-time systems at Meta that supported products including Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, and also held engineering roles at LinkedIn.

Few early-stage startups launch with founders who collectively bring experience from Amazon, Uber, Zillow, Snap, Meta, and LinkedIn. This combination of product leadership and large-scale engineering expertise gives Devplan firsthand insight into the coordination challenges faced by modern software teams.
