Kabilio Raises €10 Million So Its AI Agent Can Chase Invoices for Spanish Accountants

Kabilio has raised €10 million to build an AI agent for Spanish accounting firms. Picus Capital and Visionaries led the round, with CDTI joining, and the funding takes the Barcelona startup to €14 million raised in total.

The company was founded in 2024 by Jose Ojeda and Álex Valls and launched its platform in 2025. It now works with close to 500 accounting firms, up from about 100 a year ago, and employs 80 people.

An agent that chases paperwork

Kabilio starts with pre-accounting. Its AI reads invoices, suggests how to book them, matches bank transactions and prepares reconciliations, flagging anything that needs a human review. The company says the system cuts bookkeeping and reconciliation time by about 60 per cent.

The new agent, called Kabi, goes into beta this November. Firms can hand it the jobs they would give a new starter, from pulling invoices out of client emails to reconciling bank statements and chasing missing paperwork. It can also talk to clients over email and WhatsApp.

“We didn’t even go to market. We didn’t go raise money. They approached us, seeing the growth and how happy our customers were, and they made an offer,” said Jose Ojeda, co-founder and co-CEO of Kabilio.

The agent will later extend to small business clients too, issuing invoices, following up overdue payments, requesting missing receipts and answering routine accounting and tax questions.

A shared platform for firms and their clients

Kabilio has also launched Kabilio Empresas, a platform that lets small businesses issue invoices, connect bank accounts and watch cash flow while sharing financial data with their accountants in real time. Fiscalidad Inteligente and Alemany Assessors already use it across large parts of their client portfolios.

“An agent is only as good as the data it works on,” said Álex Valls, co-founder and co-CEO of Kabilio. “The firm is freed from busy work, and its clients feel the difference.”

Why investors came back

Picus Capital and Visionaries also led Kabilio’s €4 million pre-seed round a year ago. This time the two firms approached Kabilio themselves after watching its customer growth, rather than waiting for the startup to open a round.

The new money will fund the agent’s rollout, further automation of accounting workflows and the expansion of the shared platform. Kabilio says it is not planning another raise right now, but sees it as the natural next step.

Professor Derpy's Notes

I once spent a whole afternoon hunting one missing receipt, so an agent that chases invoices over WhatsApp sounds like the colleague I always wanted.
