The company is building AI agents that automate administrative work inside NHS hospitals. Founded in 2024 by former Palantir healthcare executive Rachel Finegold, Frontier Health says its AI platform, JUNO, is already delivering measurable results across NHS environments.

The funding comes at a time when healthcare systems worldwide are facing growing staff shortages, increasing patient backlogs, and rising operational costs. At East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, Frontier Health’s AI assistant JUNO helped reduce administrative workload while improving patient flow across multiple departments.

According to the company, JUNO saved 221 days of manual work per site within just eight weeks. The platform also saved more than 51 hours of staff time every week, including 7 hours of clinician time. Median patient pathway times fell by 21.67%, helping patients move through the healthcare system faster.

In a single month, JUNO completed more than 9,000 blood result checks, supported over 10,000 patient discharges, and helped avoid 400 four-hour emergency department breaches. These operational metrics highlight why investors see a large opportunity for AI tools that can address healthcare administration challenges at scale.

Founder Rachel Finegold Built The Company After Working Inside NHS Hospitals

Before launching Frontier Health in 2024, Rachel Finegold served as Healthcare Lead at Palantir, where she worked with more than 40 NHS hospitals during the COVID-19 period. During that time, she saw firsthand how healthcare teams were spending countless hours on repetitive administrative work that slowed operations and added pressure on already stretched staff.

This experience became the foundation for Frontier Health. Rather than building another clinical AI tool, Finegold focused on solving practical workflow problems inside hospitals.
