On 14 September 2026, the UAE launched Factory Forward UAE, a national initiative aimed at helping manufacturers adopt artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0 technologies.

The platform is designed to make it easier for manufacturers to assess their technology maturity, identify areas for transformation, access technology and industry expertise, and find financing for technology upgrades.

Factory Forward UAE brings together several existing industrial technology programmes led by the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) under one platform.

Rather than creating a separate technology ecosystem, the initiative connects manufacturers with existing assessment tools, technology partners, enablement services and financing options to support their digital transformation.

What Is Factory Forward UAE

Factory Forward UAE is a single platform designed to help manufacturers plan and carry out industrial technology transformation. It brings different forms of support into one place, including technology assessments, expert guidance, technology partners and financing options.

The initiative addresses a practical challenge faced by manufacturers. Companies looking to modernise their factories may need to navigate different programmes, technology providers and sources of technical or financial support. Factory Forward aims to make this process more straightforward by connecting these resources through one platform.

The platform supports manufacturers at different stages of their transformation journey, from assessing their current technology maturity and identifying gaps to selecting solutions, implementing them and scaling successful projects. The programmes being brought together under Factory Forward have already supported more than 700 factories, while over 620 factories have been assessed through the Industrial Technology Transformation Index (ITTI).

In practical terms, Factory Forward is designed to help manufacturers move from identifying a need to modernise to understanding what technology they should implement, who can help them implement it and how they can finance the investment.
