Nous Raises $17M to Hand Household Bills and Admin to an AI Agent

Nous has raised $17 million in new funding to expand its AI agent for household bills and everyday admin. The London startup said the money will support international expansion and new features for its household management platform.

The round was provided by Heartcore Capital and existing seed investor Mosaic Ventures. Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures also took part, alongside angel investors linked to Monzo, GoCardless, Founders Factory, Faculty.ai and Onfido.

An agent that acts, not just advises

Nous is built to take action once a household authorises it, rather than only offering recommendations. Its agent finds cheaper deals, switches service providers, cancels subscriptions and completes forms for users.

The agent also flags unfavourable contract terms and costly renewals before they take effect. Beyond bills, it manages family calendars, sends deadline reminders, finds local tradespeople and books appointments.

That approach depends on trust, because the agent touches money and contracts. Nous combines large language models with rules based logic for specific and sensitive actions, particularly those involving financial decisions.

The company is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority, which allows it to support regulated activities such as purchasing insurance. Nous said it does not make money through advertising or the sale of customer data.

Scale in UK homes

Nous said almost 250,000 households now use its service across the United Kingdom. It manages more than £685 million of household spending per year, an average of £2,765 per household.

The average household saves £734 across its bills, according to the company. Nous also said a new household joins every minute, with tens of thousands signing up each week.

Founder and chief executive Greg Marsh said the team spent 18 months refining the product for trust. He said, “We’ve spent the last 18 months building and honing an agent that not only feels magic, but is also one people can actually trust.”

What the funding will pay for

The new capital will fund expansion into additional household spending categories and regulated activities. Nous plans to broaden its range of insurance and financial services, and to add more capabilities for everyday tasks.

International expansion is also on the agenda, although Nous currently operates only in the United Kingdom. The company exited beta in 2025, after an earlier £6.6 million seed round in February 2022 led by Mosaic Ventures.

For a consumer AI market crowded with general assistants, Nous is betting on a narrower brief. If households trust an agent with their bills, the agent that handles the boring work first may be the one they keep.

Nous gains a household every minute, so I will let it run my calendar next. Mine currently runs on hope and missed reminders.
